Our Director of Activities, Laura Martinez, bring to Silverado her energy, enthusiasm and excitement. Her creative ideas bring smiles and fun to our residents who enjoy her positive outlook and personality.
Her background in this field started in high school at the age of seventeen where she was Activities Coordinator at a local Nursing Home. She found her love of recreation and activities through all of her community involvement. Laura took part in Student Government where she was the Commissioner of Community Involvement and volunteered not only at several Nursing Homes, but at the Boys and Girls Club with the After School Programs. In total she has accumulated over 120 hours of community service.
Laura was born in Michoacan, Mexico where she was raised by her mother and grandmother before arriving in the States where she has since called home with her husband and two dogs.
Laura adores working with the elderly and has a deep appreciation for their lifetime accomplishments and incorporates these stories in her daily activities. You will often find Laura with our residents making a difference with her engaging activities.
